Casting Lead For ‘Shakespeare Rewired’

Details
Roles
Macbeth/Demetrius/Lord Capulet/Facilitator: Lead. 25-35
A key part of the role involves guiding students through the full story, with students stepping into roles as part of a wider, interactive telling before actors move into focused work on Shakespeare’s scripted scenes. This requires clarity of storytelling, strong presence, and the ability to hold the room while keeping the narrative moving.

Confidence, leading and adapting work in the moment is essential. When facilitating, you will need to respond instinctively to what students offer with wit and charm, incorporating their ideas while maintaining structure, pace and focus. This flexibility is central to the work; every workshop is different, which keeps the experience fresh and engaging for both students and actors.

Work is across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4, with plays including Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest and Twelfth Night.

The role involves touring schools across England, typically one school per day.

Description
Seeking actors with a genuine love and deep knowledge of Shakespeare for a highly engaging programme of touring school workshops across England.

This is not a scripted TIE show. These workshops are guided, actor-led sessions where the Shakespeare story text sits at the centre. You will rehearse and perform key scenes to a high standard, working in front of live student audiences, while also leading students through the language, characters and choices in a practical, responsive way.

Actors lead from the front, combining performance with facilitation and shaping each session in response to the students in the room.
